I own an 870 12 gauge super mag, hunted with 870's since I was a kid. Very dependalbe gun, kinda loud racking it as opposed to the mossberg 500 I had (it was a little quieter, and held 5+1

I don't think there is a better shotgun out there than the 870. Sure you could buy something for a lot more. But for an all around pump shotgun I own and use the 870. Not fancy, just functioning.

The 870 is a great gun. I've dropped it in the mud, while duck hunt...swished it through the water in the blind till it was clean (as cean as I could get it) and it shot like new. Me and my friends

I think that the remington 870 and the mossberg 500 are the two most underated shotguns on the market. They are well priced, totally reliable and very adaptable for any hunting/defense/rec. shooting situation you'll ever come across!

“First in the field”, and first to be torn down and re-assembled into my home defense weapon, have had one around for hunting since I was a kid, dependable, rugged, a working mans piece, will put a little mass on your shoulders lugging it through the woods, not exactly a light weight over/under.

Put 1100 rounds through one straight out of the box (no pre-cleaning) first weekend I had it. No problems with the gun, massive bruising on my shoulder though.

First shotgun I owned as a kid. What can you say about this great gun? Tough, durable, inexpensive, and you dont mind dragging it through the brush after rabbits, squirrels or birds. It has never given me a reason to complain.
